Welcome to Shuai Zhang’s Group in the Department of Engineering Mechanics at Zhejiang University!
Our research focuses on interfacial mechanics at the micro- and nanoscale, with particular interests in friction, adhesion, deformation, and mechanochemistry. We are especially interested in atomically thin materials and their van der Waals heterostructures, which provide ideal platforms for exploring interfacial interactions and emerging mechanical phenomena.
Our goal is to uncover the fundamental principles governing interfaces at small scales and leverage this understanding to control matter and create new functionalities.
See Research for more details.
